The recent rain will be well received and hopefully will result in some honey flow throughout the region.
On the varroa front there seems to be little if any movement which is good but continued monitoring is still required to find varroa when it does arrive as soon as possible. I have also seen beekeepers from places such as the Central Coast advertising beehives for sale on local Facebook groups. I would like to encourage members not to buy from these beekeepers as the hives will be certain to have varroa despite any guarantees or testing or treatments. There are plenty of local beekeepers who can provide bees for you.
The clubs Christmas party went well with the weather turning out pretty good with just a few showers during the afternoon. Feedback has been that many of the people attending had a great time and relaxed time. I would like to thank all the members who came. It was all the people there that made it a great event.
Lastly, I would like to wish all members a merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year.
